How we collect, use and protect your personal data.

Shrink Studio Limited (company number 14735788) is a web design and technology consultancy registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is 1b Woodnook Road, London, England, SW16 6TZ. We run shrink.studio, including its free tools.

We are the data controller under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can contact us at hey@shrink.studio.

2. What we collect

a) When you use our free tools

Your name, email address and company, so we can email you your results
Your answers, and the result the tool works out for you, such as an estimate, a score or a report
The website URL you submit, where a tool asks for one
Whether you joined our mailing list
The time of your submission, whether your results email was delivered and its links clicked, and whether you reopened your results from the link

b) When you fill in a form or book a call

Your name, email address and company
Anything you choose to include in your message
Your booking details, if you book a call

c) When you browse our website

Technical data: IP address, browser, operating system and referring URL
Usage data: pages visited, time on page and interactions
Cookie data (see our cookies policy)

3. How we use it

To run our tools: working out your result and emailing it to you when you ask for it. Legal basis: legitimate interest, or steps you ask us to take.
To reply to you: answering enquiries and arranging calls. Legal basis: legitimate interest, or steps you ask us to take before a contract.
To follow up on your results: a personal email from Ben about your results and how we could help. Legal basis: legitimate interest. You can reply at any time to ask us to stop.
To send our newsletter: only if you opted in. Occasional notes on web strategy and what is working for other B2B teams. Legal basis: consent.
To improve our services: studying aggregate usage to make our site and tools better. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
To run our business: keeping records and managing enquiries in our CRM. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

4. Who processes it

These providers store or process your data for us:

Webflow: hosts shrink.studio and receives form submissions.
Vercel: hosts our form handler, which passes form, quiz, calculator and booking submissions to our CRM.
Resend: sends the results email you ask for from our tools, and tells us whether it was delivered and whether its links were clicked.
Airtable: our CRM, where enquiries and leads are kept.
Slack: lets our team know when a new enquiry or tool result comes in.
Cal.com: handles call bookings.
PostHog: website analytics, without cookies until you accept analytics cookies (see our cookies policy).
Anthropic: analyses the website content you submit to our tools, through the Claude API. Only the page content is sent; your email and company name stay with us.

Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long we keep it

Tool submissions and lead data: up to 24 months, or until you ask us to delete them
Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe
Website analytics: up to 26 months, aggregated and anonymised where possible
Business records and correspondence: up to 6 years, for legal and accounting purposes

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access: get a copy of your personal data
Rectification: have inaccurate data corrected
Erasure: have your data deleted
Restriction: limit how we use your data
Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest
Withdrawing consent: at any time, where processing relies on consent

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. Third-party links

Our websites link to other sites, which run their own privacy practices. Please read their policies when you visit them.

8. Children

Our services are for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we post the new version here and change the last updated date at the top of the page.
